Sakaki XIX is the second premium product in the Sakaki Craft Gin Range. The Sakaki Craft Gin Range is the first to use sakaki as a botanical.
Sakaki imparts a forest like aroma to the gin, a perfect reflection of the distillery’s home in the Wakayama mountains.
Sakaki has been labelled a “unifying botanical” – its presence in the gins not only adds an herbaceous component to the gin but also acts to enhance the gin’s citrus and spice notes.
As per the Roman numerals in its name, Sakaki XIX Gin holds 19 botanicals.
Wasabi, ginger, bay leaf and ume seed botanicals have a marked effect on the flavour and mouthfeel of this award-winning gin!
Juniper forward and fruitier than Sakaki XV, ume and citrus botanicals are complemented by star anise and sansho. This tender mouthful allows for a smooth, lingering finish. The warmth and piquancy of ginger and wasabi “tighten” the aftertaste.
